Brilliance of the Seas July 2006 Cabin Choice

This is my first posting here and I am hoping to find some info on the Western Mediterranean cruise. I am looking at a superior oceanview cabin - does it matter which side of the ship we book in regards to views along the way? I don't even know where to begin with excursions, etc. but a cabin choice would be a good start!

In my humble opinion, the side of the ship isn't that important on a Mediterranean cruise. However, if you would like to enjoy the coastline from your cabin, it depends on whether the cruise sails clockwise ot counter-clockwise. If it sails clockwise, portside offer more coastal views, while starboard offers better views if the itinerary runs counter-clockwise.

It really doesn't matter which side of the ship the cabin is on. What ports are you going to visit?

We are going to Villefranche, Nice, Livorno, Naples, Venice, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Rome and then back to Barcelona. Most of the trip follows the clockwise direction. I was wondering if you can see the shoreline at night along the way or not.

with this itinerary, it really doesn't matter.

The ship cruises quite a ways off shore so you really can't see anything. It is fun to get up early in the morning and watch the ship approach the port however.

I have to agree what Tom said. Its to far away from the land. Try to stand up early in the morning to see the sunrise and when the ships reaching the ports.

By the way, the Brilliance is wonderful, we loved our cruise.

So enjoy the ship and the iticenary.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping that that was the case. I am all set to book the cruise now- very exciting. The itinerary is daunting, but it should be busy enough to keep us from getting bored. Thanks again!
