Embarkation Times - Legend of the Sea

We recently picked up our tickets for the Legend of the Seas, sailing out of Southampton. There seems to be two contradictory statements about what time we can board.

One page states you must board at least three hours before depature (which is 5pm).

And another that we shouldn't arrive to the pier before 2pm...

We've read reviews from people saying they had been on board and eating lunch by 12:30pm.

What is normal for RCI? The only other RCI cruise we have been on we were able to board much earlier than this.

It depends when the ship arives in port, but I always try to get there about 11:30 if it is a normal sailing. They will always try to board passengers as soon as they possibly can to lesson crowds when the masses arrive.
