Myhusband and I are taking our first cruise ever on the Celebrity Summit. Any comments on the ship or general cruising advice would be greatly appreciated. Its a 10 night cruise of the Caribbean - does that mean there are 3 formal nights?

I have a quick tip for you. Take a highlighter with you. This sounds kind of weird but it made a hugh difference in finding the activities we wanted to attend. Royal Caribbean gives you a "Compass" every night for the following day. It lists all of the ships' activities and shows in the order of which they happen. There is so much going on its easy to overlook something.
Cathyo,
Yes, there will be 3 formal nights on your 10 night cruise, plus 2 informal and 5 casual. As for tips, I have 2: Bring an extension cord (particularly if you use a curling iron) as there is only one outlet and bring a small ziplock bag of laundry detergent to wash out your bathing suit, underwear, socks, etc in your cabin, as there is no self-service laundry on board.
Have a great time -
Nancy
I see you are a fellow Ontarian. Are you flying out of Toronto, and who do you book with? One more question, when are you going? 10 days sounds great, we always seem to have a problem getting 10. It seems it is always 1 or 2 weeks.
Lorrie,
We booked through Air Canada vacations and do fly out of Toronto. We liked the idea of 10 days - a week just didn't seem long enough and 2 weeks would be too long to leave our kids.
I can't wait!!
