bus transfer or cab

I will be on the Explorer of the Seas 9/28/02. Not sure if we should take a cab to the port from the airport, or buy transfers for the bus?

I think you are going out of Fort Lauderdale. From what I have seen on the forums is the most a cab fare from the airport should be is around $12.00 and that includes the TIP. The advantage is you do no have to wait for the bus to fill up and you also beat the bus crowd to the port. It is also a hassle waiting for your luggage to get unloaded at the port. We will be taking the cab on our next cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. It is cheaper and even if it wasn't I think it is more convienent.

Explorer sails from Miami. Cab, Super Shuttle or cruise line transfer are all options. If there are 3 or 4 of you, a cab might be less expensive, assuming you can all fit (plus your luggage) into one. Super Shuttle charges per person -last time I used them (summer 2001) the charge was $12.50 per person from MIA airport to a Miami Beach hotel (slightly farther than the cruise dock). YOu can reserve a Super Shuttle ahead of time via their website or phone number (sorry, I don't have either handy). For ease of use, I might recommend booking the cruise line shuttle back from the ship to the airport. I'd say either-or for getting from the airport to the ship.
