Last minute Cruise

We are heading to the States on Monday and have just organised Eastern Caribbean Cruise from Miami through T/A with RCI. Normally when cruising we have booked Balcony Cabins, but because of Global Economy etc we decided to opt for oceanview Guaranteed. We have been allocated our Stateroom which is 4 Rooms from Aft on Deck 2(Freedom of the Seas) has anybody had a cabin within this area?.....is it ok.... if you ask for upgrade? whats the chance and when should this be done at check in???? Any comments/Suggestions will be appreciated.

It depends on if the ship is sold out. I'd give my T/A a call before I left to see if anything was available. Haven't been in that cabin, but any cabin on a ship beats staying home

You can always pay the difference in the price of your assigned cabin to the category you want to be upgraded to. Maybe there won't be much of a price difference. Your travel agent will be able to give you that information. I would think it would be a good idea to save your money and experience the cabin location. You may think it's a great deal and do it again in the future. Everyone knows that there's not much time spent in a cabin when your not sleeping in it. I usually book balcony cabins because I get the diamond discount. However, I just saw an inside cabin on the Freedom in February for only $399 per person, for a 7 night cruise. That's less than half price from a balcony cabin. I'm thinking about booking it.
