What's up with Explorer

Was thinking about booking on Explorer.How does this ship rate with the Princess fleet? Also,is there a fee for the malts and the milk shakes in Johnny Rockets? Thanks for your help.

I can't compare the Explorer to the Princess fleet. I would like to try Princess someday, however. After being on the AOS last week, I would imagine that the biggest difference is the clientel of passengers and the fact that there is more to do on the Explorer.

Yes, there is a charge for the shakes ($4) at Johnny Rickets. We never tried them because we were always too full. Had several of the free ice cream cones though.

I cant compare to princess because we have never sailed them, but we just got off explorer yesterday the 27th, and i can tell you it was wonderful, you will never run out of things to do and the kids club is amazing, our daughter turned 5 on the ship and she loved it, also on a ship so big with so many people we never had to wait in line for anything on the ship. If you have any specific questions let me know i will be happy to answer, oh yeah just in case you wanted to know we sailed the eastern caribbean.

My wife and I are sailing on Explorer Dec 13th (Eastern Carabbean). I've heard all kinds of good and bad things about the cleanliness and upkeep on this ship that I don't know what to believe. A number of reviews say the the ship is now 3 years old and is not aging well. Others say it was remekably clean. With 2500+ passangers on her every week, I a little concerned. What was your experience? What did you do on St. Martin? Is there really that much differnece between the Dutch and French side?
