We are trying to decide between these two ships (Explorer of the Seas and Grand Princess) for a Western Carib. cruise.
Does anyone have any input? I know that the RCCL is much bigger, but is that a good thing or a bad thing?

You need to know your own travel needs. The Explorer has a lot of physical activities. The Climbing Rock Wall, Ice Skating Rink, Roller Blade track and miniature golf course. If you want to do alot then g for it. I don't know the Grand, check online for its activities. Also the Explorer holds 3000 people so be ready for meeting lots of people. Hope this gives you a little to think about and plan for.

We did the Grand last Sept and had a nice outside cabin with a porch. There were 4 pools and a lot of glitz but also a lot of annoying things. Too big and difficult to fiond your way up and down just to get to dinner.
Pay for ice cream - not me! Cruised before and will not be doing Princess - they are starting to look like bargain basement Carnival. I guess you do get what you pay for so watch out.
