As you know Carnival is going to be forever known as the Party boats or the fun Ships. Princess is known as the Love Boat runned by British. RCI is known as the Upscale cruising line for the masses. What ae your thoughts on this?

Not much.

Carnival has pretty much shed its "party boat" reputation.

Princess dropped the "Love Boat" thing years ago.

I've never heard of RCI referred to as upscale "for the masses".

Where did you get these obscure notions?

With all of the NEW ships out on the seas, every cruiseline is upscale....some are just better than others in showing the difference...
Some will say Service and Food are much better on their favorite ships, but that's a personal choice...No such thing as a BAD cruise...some are just better than others...Happy Sailing...

My thoughts:

Carnival will always be known as "The Fun Ships," although perhaps the definition of "fun" has changed since the creation of the campaign that introduced the tag line.

Princess -- yes, I agree that "The Love Boat" will stick in the minds of consumers, but I think it better deserves the "upscale for the masses" description than Royal Caribbean.

Royal Caribbean -- known for turning the attention inward with ice skating rinks, climbing walls, and water parks. In other words, a resurgence of family cruising where the ship is the destination.

Happy cruising!

I've heard Carnival being called "Party Ships", and Princess called "Love Boat", but it's a new one to hear Royal Caribbean called upscale for the masses. Tell us the truth now Tampataylors, did you make that one up???

We have only cruised with RCCL, but have yet to have a bad time. We have been treated royally (granted we have only been on two cruises) on both and are looking forward to the next one. Part of it depends on the frame of mind you go in with. Go in to it to have a good time and it shouldn't be hard.

Well, I for one am really ticked at Royal Caribbean! I know other cruise lines have a lot offer, and I'd love to cruise on one of them. But, Royal Caribbean keeps giving me such great perks, and keeps on building these fantastic mega ships. When am I ever going to get a chance to sail on another cruise line? Oh well, I guess it's my fault. I never should have joined the Crown & Anchor Society.
