Info on Sovereign of the Seas

I'm looking into a 3 night cruise out of Cape Canaveral, and the reviews i've read about this ship range from awful to great! The alternative is a similar cruise on Carnivals sensation.The trip is to be a surprise for hubby, so I want it to be good! We're 1st timers, so need a little help here please!

Hello. I would go on each cruise lines website to get the info on each ship. Info such as tonnage, anemities, if it has be refurbished, year built, etc...write the info down, and compare the two ships. I would guess, every ship has good and bad reviews. Cruising is a very personal and subjective experience. Hopefully, other people can suggest ideas. Good luck. Lil' Lori

When are you looking at going? Tonnage wise the ships are close. The Sovereign came out in 1988 and was refurbished in 2004. The Sensation came out in 1993 and was just refurbished. However; she is having alot of problems right now with a propulsion problem and evidently some issues that weren't finished in the recent refurbishment. I am hoping those issues will be resolved soon. That aside; both are fun ships. The rooms are a lot larger on the Sensation. The decor on the Sovereign is more subtle, where the Sensation is more whimsical.

My wife and I have done that cruise three times. We loved it each time. The only problem was the stop in Coco Cay had to be skipped last trip due to hurricane damage. For a first time cruise it is great.

I have been on it twice.Both on the 4 day cruise. Both times were excellant and top of the line.Out of 7 cruises I have been on this ship and staff as well as beauty was as wonderful and clean as the bigger newer ships.Go for it- Royal Carribean is to me the best.Call around and different times of the day they all will tell you different prices, I start calling about 4 months before I plan to go and when I hear the price range I am looking for I book.Good luck!

we went on the sovereign last nov. and had a great time.we had an inside cabin and it is small but after unpacking it was fine.cococay is very nice and relaxing we are planning to sail her again this aug./sept.you cant go wrong with Royal Caribbean.....GET OUT THERE!

Hi, I was on the Sovereign for 4 nights,(11/7/05). My first cruise and it was wonderful. The ship is older but kept well. The crew was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful. We used room service several times and it was good and they were prompt. We had a great room attendant also. Cocoa Cay was beautiful and we had
good food there also. I had never been in casino so the one on the ship kept my interest.
The most important thing about the Sovereign and it being my first cruise is that it won't be my last.
