hi guys , you have helped me before , now i have another one for you experts. i have already decided that these answers will make my decision. sunday feb 04 freedom of the seas. one of the people in our group called me today to tell me that she just bought a case of beer that will be in the room when we arrive.the name of the company is bonyoyage and they answer the phone "just because of you". the lady told me it is $44 a case of beer and she pays royal caribean $5 for a total of $49 a case. claims she has never had a problem and will refund my credit card if the beer is not there. i told her i would call back . i called royal to see if they offer cases any cheaper. they said not only do the not sell beer by the case but you cannot have more than one beer in your room at any time. they said i could walk down to any bar and bring one at a time to my room or have one sent up room service. when i told them about bonvoyage they basically told me not to give them my credit card because i will not be allowed to have any beer in my room. i tried back later with a different agent and was told the same thing. i will call bonvoyage in the morning and hopefull she is legit andwill have someone call me. i will update you. for tonight if anyone has been through this please post as i am now getting concerned that my daily 6 pack on my first cruise may cost me almost $200 for the week . ok experts take over

Just whom to you want to trust here? Someone that tells you they will have a case a beer delivered to your cabin, which I never hear of before, or the two RCCL agents? How bad do you need your beer? If you can afford to go on a cruise, you should'nt be too worried about buying beer. Just skip an excursion or two.

Wow, I would be VERY careful with a non cruise (any cruise line not just RCCL) related company claiming they could get you something in your cabin.. all you need to do is give them you credit card.

Especially after calling RCCL and having them so "no way". I wouldn't do it.

A bottle beer (on CCL because until May I haven't gone on a RCCL ship) runs $3.75 to $4.50.. On CCL you can buy a "bucket o beer" which is 6 bottle in an ice bucket, for the cost of 4 or 5 (i think), so you can do it that way if you want beer in your cabin. If you drink 6 a day, then yes, you are going to be pushing $24 * 7 = $168 for beer. But such is life. My suggestion is to consider the fact that you will be in port about 4 of those days. Get of the ship and hit a bar (Carlos and Charlies, Margaretaville etc.. ) and you can have beer cheaper.

But bottom line is, be very untrusting of a company that claims it can have liquor waiting in your cabin. Go to RCCL's website and read their policy about bringing liquor on-board...

I have heard of and have used "Just Because of You" to send gifts to clients on cruise ships, and I know they are a legitimate company. However, I don't know anything about their delivering beer to the cabin. I've just used them to deliver gift baskets or one bottle of wine at a time.

I know the wine baskets can be purchased via the cruise line website as gifts... But I have never seen a case of beer.. You can buy drink coupons too...

It is true that you can get your money back from a credit card charge for something you did not get. So what have you got to lose? If your really afraid of getting ripped off see if your friend gets hers and don't risk it. Maybe the $5 is to a bootlegging baggage handler, definately not company permitted, so stop tipping off the agents and give it a go. Tell us if it is for real or not. I've never heard of such, and suspect its a scam, but ya never know...
A good alternative is to buy a 6 or 12 pack in port and bring it back onboard....in the past i have bought 6 packs or a 12 pack of soda and carried them back on in a bag....the guy at the x-ray saw them, but never checked to see if they were beer or soda (soda is allowed)...if they check and find beer just play dumb!! and at the worst they will hold it till you go home.
If worst comes to worst there is allways the bucket specials to help keep the total under $200....don't forget to post after your trip and let me know how it went.

ok, just called shelly. she convinced me it is legit. i gave her my credit card for 2 cases of bud for $96.40 delivered to my room.the last thing she said was take any of the 48 cans anywhere on the ship including the dining rooms and the casino and i will not be bothered. will post the results. joe

Hey Joe, I talked to Shelly a few minutes ago. I sounds safe to me. You can even have booze sent to your cabin. Have a great cruise!

Yes, definetly let us know how it goes... If I can have booze sent to my cabin, I'm in...

Even though $100 for 2 cases seems a bit pricey, its not so bad when you multple 48 by $4
