I'm thinking of booking a cruise on Explorer of the Seas starting Cape Liberty - New Jersey - first port is Puerto Rico. Has anybody done this who can give me an idea of what the temperature's likely to be for the first 3 days which are at sea. And are the seas likely to be rough? Thanks.

We did the cruise in November 2008. The first 3 days were cool, and in our case the seas were rough. I suppose it depends on what sort of fronts are in the area at the time.
The Explorer is a wondeful ship, and we did not allow the first 3 days to influence the rest of our vacation.
To us there is not such thing as a bad cruise!!
Enjoy!!!

Hi we did this cruise in March this year. The sea days were much cooler than anticipated particularily on the way back. The wind was quite strong and this really made sitting outside a little uncomfortable. Personally, I wouldnt want to do 3 days at sea when the weather isnt as good. Having said that, the cruise itself was excellent and we had a really great time. the ship is great and so were the staff. I suggest that if the weather is a little cooler then the very large hot tub in the spa is an excellent hideaway - and one that not everyone appears to know about.

Since we live in New England it would be sooooo close for us to do this but I could not stand the cooler days and the rought seas when I want calm and Hot, Hot, Hot. I'll continue to go south to pick up my cruise.
