Why I Love My Agent

People often come to this forum and ask "why should I use an agent?"

Here is why:

Our upcoming cruise on the Grandeur is not cheap, despite it being on an older ship. We initially booked an inside cabin, then upgraded to a balcony cabin (D2 category). This morning I noted that our price had dropped significantly...$600. But we have made final payment and RCI is not keen on refunds once final payment is made. But then I noted that a junior suite (JS category) was now the same price as our D2 cabin. So I contact my agent, a great "cruise specialist". We went over the options. I asked to be moved to a JS for no extra cost. She called RCI, talked to the right people, and we were moved to the JS suite and for no extra fees, they even kept our taxes the same.

I love my agent! She always goes the extra mile for me.

I am going to send her a dozen roses.

One more thing...it is a junior suite on the stern too! Bigger balcony and less wind. Primo cabin!

It still isn't a cheap cruise but at least I now feel the price we are paying equals the cabin category. Plus we get two cruise credits for the suite which now means we are half way to Diamond Plus level. Oh wow.

But I must say this - for all my slamming of RCI over the past few months they did right by us this time, and so I applaud their customer service people for making me happy.

Congratulations, Dave, great upgrade! I've never had a JS, I'm afraid I'd become addicted to that as well. I love my balcony and know I could go on more cruises if I'd book an inside, but the balcony is such a fantastic feature. Maybe one day, I'll get lucky, too.

Awwww Dave I am so happy for you. We got a JS on our last Grandeur cruise and loved it and it's amenities. Now I am booked in Oct in a balcony, my usual choice, and look all the time for a price drop on the JS on the Radiance....getting spoiled is addicting !!

This is our first ever upgrade, and it is a real upgrade too and not just the same sized cabin on a higher deck.

Fortunately I happen to know a wonderful person who lives in Boston, and finally get to meet her!

Lisa and I have helped run cruise websites, contributed reviews and articles, and otherwise have been friends for over 10 years. Yet we've never met. That will change in a month. I am so excited!
