Hi there, Just back from Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas a month ago Meditteranean, and my best friend is back from a caribbean cruise at the weekend, when I watched her DVD of the cruise in review, I was shocked to find it had the EXACT same content as ours, love and marriage, the 70s promenade show, etc, the whole thing was the same, so how do you know if you book royal caribbean again that you wont have come across all the same shows and formats etc, would not do royal caribbean if it was the same. obviously.

Don't be surprised when you try another cruise line, and their content is very similar, yet the names may be different....sexy legs contests, horse races at the pool, love and marraige game show...many people loved to get involved in these things, and some never see any of them. Your cruise is what you make it, the cruise staff provides activities which although they may vary much....the crowd participation can make them very different. I choose Royal Caribbean because I like the ships, I like the age range and I have been treated well. If I had unlimited funds, I may make other choices....I loved the one Windstar cruise and would go again, when I can.....

Most sister ships have the same menu, shows, events...I'm sure that way they can switch personnel from ship to ship if the need arises.
And a lot depends on the Cruise Director and how they manage the ship's events...the main thing is..Did you have a Good Time? I was on the Voyager and they had Charo onboard for a one night performance...wowowowo...

Happy Cruising,

Bob E

HI there,

yeah it was great im not complaining, but if I was to go on one again, and it was Love and Marriage I wouldnt like that - its the same thing!!! Great for First Time Cruisers but really when you go to a show its the variety, does it not change year on year for annual cruisers.

All staff and shows by the way were excellent.

We feel the same. If we do go on another cruise think we would try a smaller ship with a different company.

Love and marriage show is common among most cruiselines and has been done on just about every cruise in recent memory in one form or another. They do, obviously have varried entertainment. Differnt comedians with diff acts. They change up the song and dance numbers yearly on most. There are so many venues for different entertainment, I don't worry much about the few things that are consistent. I do cruise with different lines and on a wide variety of ships. I'm in the business so knowing as much as possible about what they all offer and the differences is more of a career decision than personal preference sometimes. I love RCCL and sail with them probably more than any other. But they are not the best choice for everyone I deal with. There are lines I don't really ever care to cruise with again that many of my clients can't praise enough and would never cruise with anyone else. So knowing what draws people to the different options and what to ask to find out these things before making a booking (and possibly making a mistake) is important.

If you want to cruise with a different line to get a different experience, do it. If you loved the RCCL experience, don't change just because they may repeat a show or two.

Cheers, Neil

My original post should have said may NOT vary...

I just returned from my 42nd RCCL cruise, and the format is always the same except for the people. The people is what makes the cruise. If anyone thinks going to any other cruise line, or different size ships, is going to make any difference to the format; you're wrong. Even menus are very simular from ship to ship. If I ever get so bored with the format that I complain, I'll same my money and not cruise anymore. It's my choice.

The love and marriage show was on quite late in the evening so didn't get to see it. Saw a bit of it on the telly the following day though.
