I was told that travel irons could not be brought on board the ship? Can anyone tell me if Sovereign of the Seas has irons in the rooms or available to use?
it is prohibited to use irons in the cabins due to fire safety regulations. And unless I am mistaken, "Sovereign of the Seas" does not have self-service launderettes.
However, instead of an iron I would suggest bringing a handy steam device which is also not prohibited.
SOS offers an excellent and reasonably priced pressing through its onboard laundry/dry cleaner service. If you arrive early enough, your cabin steward should be able to assist you for any first night pressings. Othewise, provide your needs to the steward by 5:00 p.m. and you'll get it back by 5:00 p.m. the next day. Most ships offer express service for just a little extra.
Royal Caribbean's Iron policy is just a load of manure AND just another way to gouge the passenger.
Take some wrinkle free spray with you....And dont forget to drop a card in the suggestion box about this BS policy. (and dont even feed me any "fire hazard malarky, either because the hairdryer is more of a hazard)
We just got off of Legend yesterday.
