Hi there, two 23 year old females travelling. Any suggestions to which cruise ships (either Carnival or Royal) might have a younger crowd on board? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.
My guess would be Carnival. Either cruise line will have some kind of a mixture of age groups. You might ask yourself what other features you want on your cruise vacation. I would think RCCL has more to offer, depending which class ship you sail on.

RCCL and Carnival are definitely the way to go. Being in my 20's myself, I would recommend Royal over Carnival but you will find a younger and fun crowd on both. I recently went on the Freedom of the Seas and had a blast. The crowd has been great on all of my Carnival and Royal sailings EXCEPT the Brilliance of the Seas. The staff said they almost always have an older crowd (as in over 50) and actually showed a look of surprise when we walked into the casino! so I would stay away from that if possible
How were the clubs on the Freedom?? I am going in 27 days yeepee and would like to know because I am traveling with some young folks who are curious about the club scene?

I am not sure what your friends are into but they had this fabulous club on board called "the Crypt" that I went to every single night. From the outside there are stained glass windows - almost like a church- and when you go inside it was decorated in a very gothic style. Its two stories, with the second floor overlooking the dance floor. It was always packed and the music and atmosphere was great.
They have several clubs, all with a different taste to them - but that was by far my personal favorite.

Thank you but what types of music I mean like rock, jazz, disco if they even play that anymore or just the music type radio stuff?
Being just a sckosh over 50 (okay, maybe a little more than a sckosh), I can tell you that I'm a heck of lot more fun than some 20 and 30 somethings I've met. Age is a state of mind; I may be a 50 something, but I'm still 20 something between my ears! (But I do have the good sense and good taste not to wear a speedo!).
