Hi-from a newbie on these forums!
Does anyone have a suggestion as to whether it's worth spending $249.00 more pp to upgrade to a Jr. suite? Both have balconies, but the jr. suite is wider due to the tub and has a slightly bigger sitting area, from the info I gathered on the site.

Thanks,
Doreen

Welcome to cruise-chat.

The extra room is nice to have, but is it worth the extra $500? That depends on your cruise budget. We like suites because of the space and larger closets, but in reality we are probably wasting money since like most cruisers we don't spend much time in the cabin. One benefit to a suite is that you get two cruise credits, which means you can accumulate points towards the higher levels of Crown and Anchor membership more quickly. Do 3 cruises in a suite and poof, you are a platinum member, instead of the usual 5 cruises one would need.

Have you cruised before with RCI?

Also - you have to use BB Code for the countdown clock. HTML doesn't work. There should be three choices for a code at the ticker website. BB Code is one of them.

Thanks for the reply, Dave. Yes-currently we (hubby & I) have 4 cruise credits with RCCL, so it wouldn't really help us, as this cruise will get us to platinum for our next cruise anyway.

We'll be on a 9 night E. Carib. in July, and with 4 days at sea, we may be in the cabin a little bit more than usual. There's only so much sun one can get by hanging out on deck!!

Is there a possibility that we could get an upgrade to Jr. suite at check-in?

Also, thanks for the info on the countdown clock! I was wondering how to get it to work!

Suites usually sell out early. I wouldn't expect to see any type of upgrade available.

9 nights? I'd go for the suite. Even though it won't matter as far as making platinum, it does put you one point closer to diamond.

I just realized that you're cruising the same time in July that we are-what ship are you going on?
