We will be on Sovereign next week. We have never been on a cruise this short and was wondering about the formal night. Should we pack our tux's? How did our people dress? We enjoy dressing up for the formal nights but didn't want to over do it if others do not.
If you want to get a picture all dressed up, then I would bring or rent a tux. I found a lot more people wearing semi-formal clothes on this short cruise than on a 7 night cruise. I wore a tropical flowered shirt with black trousers. I let my wife pack everything. I hate making decisions.
If I decide to wear a tux on a cruise again (highly doubtful), I will opt for the rental tux on the ship. Surprisingly inexpensive, and you can keep it for the duration of the cruise. You can choose the black and white combination that comes with a black jacket and a white jacket. If you have two formal nights, it is like having two entirely different tuxedos.
