I wish you a happy belated birthday too, Sonny.
My very first cruise was on the Sovereign. It was back in Nov. of 2004. Yes, it happened during the Presidential Election. And yes, I did my civic duty of voting by submiting an absentee ballot prior to my cruise.
I heard that the Sovereign became a whole lot better after it's renovation. My cruise was the last cruise before the major renovations in the dry-dock started.
We did not have Ben&Jerry's, Sorrentos, Seattle's Best or Johnny Rocket's on the second floor of the Windjammer, when I was onboard. I would have enjoyed eating at those places. In fact, most of that area up above was closed-off. They must have started working on them when I was there. They already were starting to renovate the some of the staterooms, when I was there. I had to get used to seeing rolls of new carpeting, tools, and workmen in the halls.
I saw that multi-part TV documentary on the Travel Channel titled " Sovereign of the Seas, A Cruiseship Is Reborn". It was all about the renovations that went on while the ship was in dry dock. I got to see allot of the crew again (on TV this time). I really enjoyed watching that documentary.
Anyway, I had better end this reply. I hope you are enjoying your cruise Sonny. Take care and happy birthday
