We have to cruise during kids breaks. What we wanted on RC port Miami was booked. We're taking Mariner from Port Canaveral. 1st ? - if we have a flight from Texas that arrives DAY of departure at MCO 11:55 am is that enough time to get luggage & transportation to terminal or should we fly in the day before (Sat)? Trip date us 8/3-8/10/08. 2nd ? - what is best & most reasonable transportation to Port C. from airport (MCO)? There are 7 people. Thanks in advance.

Griffin, The 11:55 am arrival is within the flight guidelines by the cruiselines, barely. If you have the opportunity to come in the day before, that is always the best option. If your schedule or other reasons prevent it, I'd still move your flight to an earlier arrival time if you can.

There are cruiseline transfers available, outside transfers, cabs and other options. Since Orlando Airport is 45 miles from the pier it would be a pricey cab ride. Also, the transfers are sold per person and with 7 people, that too would be a pretty big expense. I would think sharing a rental car that can be dropped off at a location near the pier and a courtesy shuttle from the drop off to the pier would be the route I'd look into. That way you can rent a van and share the expense rather than paying individually for all 7.

Check to see which rental companies have locations at both the airport and near the pier, be sure they have a courtesy shuttle. A Google search of some of the major players should get you some 800 #s to start with. Avis, Hertz, Budget, Enterprise, Allamo, Dollar, Thrifty... Certain there are some I'm forgetting, but it's a start.

Cheers, Neil
