On Celebrity Galaxy this summer we found our assigned cabin had a huge pillar that meant the bed could not be made up as a queen with access from each side. Speaking to the front desk got us nowhere so I wrote a letter to the Hotel Director expressing my dissappointment that Celebrity's brochure is so misleading and expressed the hope that he could move us rather than me suffer the whole cruise and have to take it up with Celebrity on our return. We got a call from him apologising for the problem and asking us to go to the desk where they had selected a cabin on a higher deck for us to move to if it was acceptable to us. Result satisfaction. I also had toilet blocakage problems on Holland America's Zuiderdam in Nov 2004. Again the front desk didn't seem to get the action that was needed. Another polite note to the Hotel Director chronicaling our repeated front desk complaints got the engineers out who fixed it (for us and others on the corridor) and got us a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates. SO if at first you don't succeed with the front desk, write a polite note to the Hotel Director.
