visa requirements and more

Hello, this is my first time cruisin with my spouse. We are cruising on March 3 on the Voyager of the Seas (Eastern Caribbean). I wondering if someone can assist me with few questions:

firstly, my spouse is a permanent residence of Canada, but not a citizen. She has a 10 yr US visa. One of our ports is Labadee, Haiti. would my spouse require a visa to enter this island?

Secondly, I know alcohol is not permitted on the ship, but what are the chances that they will x-ray our hand luggage or suitcase and confinscate the liquor?

Thirdly, I am flying in the same day and arriving in Miami at 10:15am. Would that give us sufficient time to reach the port? What is the distance between the port and the Miami airport? How long does it take with traffic?

Last question, how do we post the days remaining until we cruise?

Hello Sonu, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Labadee is RCCL's private beach area and no visa is required.

The cruise line are getting very serious about bringing alcohol on board. I personally don't think it's worth taking a chance of being caught.

It's about a 20 minute taxi ride to the Port of Miami from the Miami airport. The price is about $25. Even with heavy traffic you should be at the port around noon.

Can't really help you with the time ticker. My wife and I are sailing on the Navigator the same day you'll be on the Voyager. I have pictures of the Voyager cruise we took in December, if you would like to look at them CLICK HERE

Thanks for the prompt reply Sonny. I wanted to confirm, is peurto rico part of USA?

Yes, San Juan is, but Nassau is not. I'm fairly sure you will be going there.

yes, we will be going to nassau as well along with St. Thomas. I found out that Nassau does not require a visa. Only a valid passport and we would need my wife's PR (permanent residence) card.
