Are there any particular cabins/areas to avoid?
Anything too noisy (ie near a nightclub or similar)???
My husband and I want to do a repositioning cruise to Europe next year in May but don't want a noisy cabin. Any suggestions?

I think I would try to avoid the ones that are around the forward Centrum stairwell and elevators. Sometimes people congregate in that area - so noise could be an issue.

Thanks, Shelley, we'll bear that in mind. We've found an ocean view cabin on Deck 2 which should fit the bill.
We read that the nightclub, The Vault, goes well into the night. We did a cruise in June this year on HAL's Maasdam from Montreal to Boston. We found we were underneath their showroom and on one occasion when the show was on late that it was really noisy and difficult to sleep.
Have you (or anyone) any experience with anchoring/mooring noises? The Maasdam was very noisy - which was only a problem when we moored very early in the morning (ie 3.30am!).

If you are in the very forward section of the ship on a lower deck - you will definitely hear the anchor noises whenever they are mooring - which makes sense since they have to house the anchors somewhere. In the very rear of the ship on lower decks you are likely to get residual noise from the engines.
