Cabin Location Mariner of the Seas

We are thinking of a balcony on Mariner of the Seas. If we take a balcony on the highest deck is there a problem with people looking down from above? Specifically the locations are below the Windjammer or the Spa on deck 10. Don't know if there if even a walkaround deck above (deck 11).

We sail on Explorer of the Seas June 6th, in a JS on deck 10. My husband and I were wondering the same thing. We will make a post when we return, to let you know if we thought it was private. Lori and Dennis

Definitely book a balcony. They are worth the money. My family and I sailed on the Mariner of the Seas on May 2nd. It was fabulous!

Hello! We returned from our cruise on Explorer of the Seas. Our room was a junior suite #1624, on Deck 10. We both thought the balcony was very private. The partitions between each balcony was wall like, you could not see through them AT ALL. If you stuck your neck out real far, you could see the lower balconies, with a hazy plastic like partition, which to me looked like you could see through it. The only time we saw other people, was when we were standing directly up against the balcony rail. Our room stuck out on a curve, (refer to Explorer deck layout),so our balcony was out to the side a little more. There was a outside deck above us, and they could not see below to our balcony. That was our second cruise, and 1st balcony. We paid $800 extra total for a JS, so we upgraded from a regular balcony. We think a regular balcony room would be just fine next time. The view from deck 10 was fabulous. Our balcony had a table, 2 chairs and a chaise lounger. Enjoy!!

This is a question for papaflamingo. Since you have cruised on the Mariner of the Seas, just wondering if you did book a suite on deck 10. If so, how was it.

No problem with being overlooked from above on Mariner balconies; the decks above you screen the view completely (because the ship has sheer sides). Just a bit of a long way down if you look over your rail and don't like heights!
