We are booked for a transatlantic cruise next Oct. 2011 on the Mariner of the Seas, leaving from Rome to Galveston. We would like to go a week early to tour Normandy and northern Italy before meeting the ship, but don't want to drag alot of luggage with us. Does anyone know if RCCL stores luggage if we shipped it to Italy before we leave the U.S?

Hi there...where are you flying into?
I know there is a 'left luggage' storage available at both Rome Leonardo da Vinci airport as well as Venice. They are both on the arrivals level, cost about 7 Euros per piece per 24 hour period. You might want to google the airport in question.
I hope you enjoy the trans-Atlantic as much as I did.

Thanks for the info! We are considering flying into Paris for a day, then on to Normandy, then on to Rome by train. I checked into shipping our luggage by UPS to Rome and it's almost $400 each - YIKES! I'll have to work on a solution...but, we're so looking forward to the crossing. My husband went to sea for 38 yrs. and he wants cruises with alot of sea days http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

Hi again..as it sounds like you will be travelling by train from Normandy to northern Italy, check out the rail stations, usually they have storage places as well, at lots less than UPS!!!!! Makes more sense to travel by train if you have the time, scenery, local flavor etc....Enjoy
