Not usually, since it is generally not their fault or something they can have reasonable control over. They will not charge afflicted guests for seeing the doctor or for the meds, but that is usually it.
They will offer something if they have to cancel a cruise to decontaminate the ship. 99% of this stuff is something that a passenger brought aboard with them and spread around.
Brneyes, you're going to have a perfect cruise. Don't worry about things you can't control. Enjoy the feeling of knowing soon you'll be on that ship having the best vacation ever! One of the best things about going on a cruise is knowing you're going. I can't face reality without having a cruise booked.
SONNYV, well said, we can't control what comes aboard...That is the last thing on my mind when check in! We've only been on three cruises and all have been during flu season (April each year) and never witnessed any outbreaks.
Dave Beers, thanks for your input. I was just wondering. Yes, I know normally it is not the ships fault, but some passenger bringing it on. At least it is nice to know they will not charge if you have to see the doctor or get something for the sickness.
Brneyes, when are you sailing in April? I'm thinking about booking the Serenade on the 14th. They have balcony cabins for only $759 per person. That's a no-brainer.
Hi Sonny, yes we are sailing the 14th, and if you can get a balcony for that price, that sounds like a very good price.
I have an inside on the 8th floor, and it cost more than that. That is why I am trying to find out how "soon" I need to contact RCCL and see if the price has gone down, since my TA booked it for us. I know my TA won't be checking it out.
If you call your T.A. and tell her/him there is a balcony cabin for under $800 and you want to switch. I just switched my March 3rd cabin from a balcony to a Promenade and got a $500 credit. All you have to do is keep the same booking number. Your travel agent should accommodate you. Let me know if she/he doesn't.
