Does anyone know if they have rollerblading on the Liberty of the Seas? I know they have the ice rink. Also, I assume you can rent ice skates as well as roller blades if this is indeed an activity, is this correct?

Thanks,
Bruce

No rollerblade track. The ice skating is included in the cruise price. You don't have to pay extra to use the skates. They have several rink times over the cruise, including some for kids only which include basic lessons for those who have never skated. Not bad - getting taught by world-class figure skaters! My son never ice skated before and he took to it very easily under the guidance of the pros.

Thanks Dave. My daughter loves to skate and is pretty good at it. She is going to have a blast with that.

Just remember that they aren't teaching kids to do jumps and flips. One woman got upset when she found out the lessons were for beginners. She thought they were going to teach her daughter how to do Salchow's, Axel's, and Lutz's!

They do have "open" skate times - for adults, kids, and families too.

LOL!!! My daughter is already doing all those jumps and stuff now!! We won't need any classes, just the ice time. It is good they have those available though. That is a nice benefit for someone just starting out.

Robert + iceskates + gravity = infirmary
I think that I will just stick to hanging at the bars. I can perfectly stick my dismount from the bar stool.

No wonder I can't skate. I asked them to teach me the double and triple Klutz's. I mastered those!

And don't forget to hip check your daughter into the boards; it's priceless!

That's funny, GC. I was throwing a football with my 12 year old nephew which led to a little horseplay. He came running at me and I "gently" clotheslined him. (no pain, I promise) He said what was that and I told him. Unfortunately, the next 20 minutes were spent with me explaining what a clothesline was. Poor kid thanks our greatgrandmothers had a maytag dryer.
Awwww... cripes!! Can someone make it to where I don't have post 666?!?!?!

I see your head spinning, doc, and is that split pea soup, Regan?

I hip checked both my sons on Explorer last April; it was the highlight of my cruise (their's, too). Of course, they came at me and tried to get my shirt over my head, followed by a good pummelling, but alas, 'twas the reverse: I had their shirts over their heads and playfully pummelled them.

Come to think about it, how about a cruise chat cruise on a ship with an ice rink; NOW THAT WOULD BE FUN (images of Marty McSorley and Todd Bertuzzi are dancing through my head).
