Bringing Alcohol Home?

We are going on The Freedom of the Seas for Thanksgiving week (yippee!) and we had planned to bring back many bottles of liquor (it's so darn cheap!). But now with the new airline regulation rules that you cannot bring liquids on board, it doesn't look like we can. I would be very nervous about sending them in my checked-in luggage for the sake of them breaking. Can anyone tell me what they are doing??

Our friends brought bubble wrap and an empty carry-on with them. On the return flight they checked in the carry-on and it made it back home with no breakage.

Thanks for the bubble wrap idea. It may come in handy this February.
