I'm planning a Panama cruise on Royal Carribean for September 2007 on the Serenade and have a few questions:

1. I'm switching from NCL to RC and am wondering about the traditional dining. As a solo cruiser is it better to be seated at a large table (8-10 people) or a small (4-6 people)?

2. Do a lot of people dress up (gowns/tuxes) for formal night?

3. I'm looking at a balcony cabin on the 8th floor. Any info on the ship or balcony cabins would be welcome.

Thanks,

Hi,
You will love the Serenade of the Seas. Perfect ship for the Panama Canal cruise. In answer to your question about being seated at a large or smaller table... I think a table for 8 or ten would work best. Most people do dress up on formal night. I would guess about 90%. We always try to book an aft cabin. The reason being the balcony is much larger. Our second choice is a cabin on the hump. Here is a picture of our deck 8 aft cabin on the Jewel of the Seas, which is also a Radiance class ship. This should give you a good idea of what I'm talking about... CLICK HERE

Hope this helps...

The aft is larger because of the shape of the ship. The hump balcony isn't any larger than any other balcony in the same catagory. Suites have Larger balconies also. Here is a picture of a hump balcony on the Adventure of the seas. It's also on deck 8 CLICK HERE
