We always have this issue because we travel in September alot. We sail in September " hurricaine season " I know the ship can miss the weather at sea but what about in Florida ? What would they do about very bad weather the day of sailing ? Wait a day ? Move to another port ?

If the weather is very bad as you put it, I assume you mean hurricane type bad weather they will close the ports. There is no shipping allowed during a hurricane.Last year we had 4 hit and they closed the ports every time. That also means no gasoline as the tankers can't get in either.Hope we don't have those type problems again for a long time.

Last year we missed 2 cruises due to hurricanes. 1 on Celebrity and one on HAL. In both cases they gave us a choice of booking another cruise or a full refund. In both cases the ships came into port on Tuesday. Our departure was to be on Saturday. We chose the refunds. I will have to say that all the lines I heard about did the same. They did say that we could take the shorter cruise and they would give us some ship board credits. Hope this answers your questions.
