If I miss my cruise because of this %^&$#$ Northeaster and I do have the travel insurance from RC, will it be covered? I am scheduled to fly out at 7:20am Saturday morning (Boston on Jet Blue) which is suppose to be better than Friday morning so going earlier wouldn't be an option. I am suppose to arrive in Ft. Lauderdale at 10:30 which was plenty of time to get to FL post for 5:00 sailing, but now I am worried. Has this happened to anyone before. What would my options be if I miss the boat? Hi Pam. I just checked the JetBlue Web site, and as of now your flight is still on for tomorrow.

I'm not familiar with the terms of the travel insurance policy offered through Royal Caribbean. Many policies will reimburse you for any expenses you incur in catching up to the ship at the next port. Some will also reimburse you for the cruise itself -- but you do need to check the fine print as every policy is different.

When traveling tomorrow, have phone numbers on hand for the following: Royal Caribbean, Jet Blue, your travel agent. A good friend of mine missed his ship last year (it was on a day like today) and had to meet the ship in Nassau, its first port of call. The airline rebooked him on a flight for the next day, and his TA made his overnight hotel arrangements in Nassau.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. This weather is supposed to turn to rain tonight, so I would think you'd be OK.

I thought I'd update those following this thread, as I was curious myself after reading it yesterday.

According to the JetBlue site, Pamela's flight from Boston took off at about 9:20 after a two hour delay. Still, they are expected to land in FLL at 1:15, giving her ample time to make the ship. I hope the morning wasn't too stressful for them.
