Lori,

I am with you in being disappointed with the lack of "recognition" we received for the Freedom maiden voyage. So I agree - no, it wasn't worth the premium price we all paid. I do remember Captain Wright and Ken Rush saying "they got the message" when responding to complaints about the lack of special stuff for us. But really - wasn't that a lame sailaway from Miami? They did NOTHING! The highlight was the guy in the speed boat who mooned us.

That was the first inaugural cruise I took and I swore that I'd never waste the money again. But where the Freedom was essentially a "super Voyager", the Genesis is a whole different species. In other words, I could be enticed to do it again but it depends on the actual dates.

I do remember the speed boat. That was quite a send off. Anyways, maybe this maiden voyage will be different, due to all the complaints they received. I guess you wouldn't know, until your on it. Unless, they give hints for a maiden voyage. Hum, I am tempted. But my husband is still in college, so maybe it won't even be an option. I almost hope so, so I won't have to fret about it, and save all that extra money for a junior suite. BTW- we got our cruise docs today, we are going on the Monarch for a 3 day big family cruise. Yeah... I actually haven't been on a cruise since the Freedom. Since then we have done 2 international trips. So I am more then ready, to get out there, on the open sea. Lil' Lori

Have a great time on the Monarch! Only 3 days? Oh well, 3 days is better than no days!

Since I've retired I guess I could go on any cruise I want as long as my wife and son approve. I can't see that happening!

It sounds as thought it can be done by just writing a letter to let them know you plans. That would be a great option for anyone in PR.

Wow!! Don't look for these ships to be making the Panama Canal transit any time soon. These things make a Panamax freighter look like a dinghy.

This ship looks AWESOME! I can't wait to see the rest of the ship! I'm only hoping I can afford to sail it once it is finished.
