TIPPING ?

When my wife & I cruise we tip the dining room staff for the whole week weather we eat in the dining room or not.This time I'm bringing my grandkids ages 13 & 10 I don't expect to see the 13 yearold at the table more than once & the 10 year old twice if I'm lucky.
? Tip the whole week for them.

Yes, tip for your grandchildren, as the dining room stewards pull double duty in the buffet and other food venues the kids will likely be using.

How about tipping for one of the two for the week? To me it would seem more than fair, and you should feel comfortable. If they eat at the dining room more than two nights I would consider tipping both for the whole week. My wife and I always pre-pay the tips. That way we don't have to think about it. If we get better than average service we add more money to the vouchers.

You should tip for the whole party. Once you get there you will want to. The service is tremendous. The wait staff pull shifts in the buffet and you don't tip in there so at least they will get what they deserve.

When you do not use the dining room, should yoube tipping the wait staff in the Windjammer? How about the staff in the pizza and ice cream locations?

First of all, not eating in the main dining room is missing out on part of your cruise experience. If you use the Windjammer every night then I would definately tip the waiters. The pizza and ice cream servers don't really wait on you as if you were sitting at a table. Because they change the staff in the Windjammer leaving a tip each evening would probably be best. At least that's my opinion.

If I generally eat dinner in the dining room, but use the Windjammer one night, I might leave something but in general they are not doing that much for me as I'm still getting my own food. I may leave a few bucks on the table as in a normal restaurant setting.

I'm with Sonny on the Sorrento's and Ben And Jerry's workers - they are really not doing anything different than a server in the buffet line. To tip the pizza guy would be the same as tipping the guy who slices the roast beef at Windjammer.
