I don't know when you are going, but it is a wonderful cruise. We did the cruise on the Legend in 1998. It was wonderful.
We did the Volcano Nat'l Park tour in Hilo. It was a good day and we saw a lot of the island.
We did the Tour of the Place of Refuge. Fantastic scenery. We really enjoyed it.
While in Lahani we did the down hill bike ride. It is not for your weak at heart. It was quite an experience, but one I would not recommend unless you are in great physical condition and able to ride a very heavy mountain bike. Haleakala Crater is well worth seeing, but I would just take the tour to the summit and ride back down in a bus or something.
We did the helecopter tour on Kuaie? don't know if I spelled it right. Awsome. Pricey, but what a spectacular view of the island. We also did the Fern Grotto, it was very enjoyable also.
In Honolulu we did the Arizona Memorial tour. It was well worth the time to do it. I still get chills when I think about the oil still coming up to the surface from the Arizona.
We really enjoyed our time in Hawaii. The cruise to Hawaii was great too, we love the sea days.
We are going to do two back to back cruises on the Legend in February and March from Sidney, Australia to Aukland and then from Aukland to Honolulu. We are looking very forward to it.
The Legend is a beautiful ship, the food is good by not great, some of the areas are a little worn looking, but the staff is great. Hope you have a wonderful cruise and that this has been some help to you.
