8596 - the map i have makes it clear that this is not on the bump...it's just odd, because my TA is a friend who is a long time RC customer and is usually spot on with her information

Not even near the bump out section. What is your sailing date? Are on the Adventure? I can check to see how many bump out E-1 cabins are available.

Yup, it's the Adventure, and we sail on 9/28/07.

Thanks for looking into this.

As of now there are 5 E-1 balcony on the balcony on deck 8. If you can get cabin 8618, take it! There are two cabin on the outside of the bump out. I have one in that location on my transatlantic cruise in April. If it where me, I'd call my T.A. right now. Good luck!

Thanks for the picture Sonny. We have cabin 6318 on Voyager this April & that will be my view! Are you a Travel Agent too?

No, I'm not a travel agent. You will see why I prefer the bump out cabins, especially the furthest out.

This is the first time for us on the 'bump'. We have had a cabin on the very back & the balcony was to die for. It was the size of the cabin almost. Did you get more wind there than you would another cabin? It looks like a great place to take some video.

I like the back too, except for on the Voyager Class ships. I never took note on how windy it is on the bump out cabins. I would think it would be a little more windy. You'll be cantilevered out as much as the bridge is. This picture will give you a good idea of just how far out you are.

Thanks, Sonny.

I was actually just talking to my fiancee. Due to the possibility of more wind and less privacy, we have decided it's not worth it to bother our TA, and will stay with what we have.

The view certainly was nice, but being able to see all water (and no ship) from a regular balcony has its appeal also.

Our room is still on hold for now, but once we officially book I will let you all know!

MiketheKid, I know you are not considering a Princess ship, but I just wanted to show you the problem I'm referring to;
Look at where the bump starts on the third deck above the Promenade--the two balconies are practically attached. But this problem only exists on Island and Coral Princess.
