Hi, I sleep with a Cpap machine and noted other threads that answered some questions, however, the machine needs distilled water. Does the ship provide it? Can I buy distilled water on board? Thanks
|
Yes, the ship will provide you with distilled water for your Cpap at no charge to you. Just let your cabin steward know and they will deliver it to your room.

Thanks Sonny, I was about to post they should contact the special needs dept. Odd thing about this is most always the ship water from the tap is distilled..I thought.
|
I think as a whole ship's water is distilled. However they do "fill up" at ports as needed. That would not be distilled.
I am sure Dave knows the truth here. |
Yes they do on occasion take on water at ports when needed.

I wouldn't want to take a chance putting anything but distilled or purified bottled water in a CPAP. I've seen rust colored water come out of ship tap water a few times. I don't think any ships plumbing system would be a good source to get distilled or filtered water from--think about it.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will write to RCL to receive clarification as well.

If the ship can't help you (I'm quite sure they can) I would bring along either Aquafina or Dasani bottled water. It's purified by reverse osmosis to remove impurities. The bottled water on the ship is Evian, which is mineral water which will damage your machine with Calcium and Magnesium residue.

Again, the ship will give you distilled water for your CPAP. I know because I use a CPAP on cruises.

Sonny,
How do they provide the water? A pitcher, bottle, etc.? |
