Alrighty guys I went out on a limb here, I booked Liberty for its first sailing on May 19, 2007 Has anyone else booked it either on that sailing or another? It is a surprise birthday & anniversary present for my boyfriend. Do you recieve free items when you go on the first sailings. Any information would help me out. I have only been on one other cruise

I know a very nice group of people who will be on the maiden voyage with you. I'll PM a link to you. We are part of the group but cannot do the May 19 cruise on Liberty.

As for freebies.......we were on the maiden voyage of the Freedom and the only thing we got was a generic certificate (no names on it) saying we were on the maiden voyage. After all the hype about the Freedom it was sort of a letdown to not have any hoopla over the inaugural cruise. On the last day of the cruise, the Captain and the CD apologized to everyone and said RCCL would "take this as a lesson learned". I am not sure what that means but I will be watching closely to see if you and your fellow passengers get some special treatment and a gift. Afterall, you are paying more for the maiden cruise than the same cruise a couple weeks later.

We "almost" booked with you. But first cruise goes to an itinerary we have sailed way too often and wanted the second cruise. But we couldn't get a cabin for 4 for that cruise except for a suite. We (or rather SWMBO- She, Who Must Be Obeyed) decided that if we were going to spend that much money we would be doing Disney... so I compromised and book a cheaper interior cabin on the Mariner AND 3 days at Disney after the cruise..

Would have liked to have been on the liberty though... Maybe next cruise. If Dave56 and SonnyV are correct, we won't be in a big hurry to go back to cruising on CCL after our Mariner trip....

I'll be on the Freedom next month. That's when I'll book the Liberty. I like getting the $100 on board credit for booking while on a cruise. My travel agent still gets the credit for the booking, in case anyone has wondered.
