Just looking for an opinion here. We are deciding which ship to sail to the Panama Canal. Our choices are Brilliance of the Seas or Jewel of the Seas. They are basically the same ship but Jewel is a couple of years younger. My question is geared more towards overall experience and service. If given the choice, which would you take and why? Thanks for the help!

The Jewel is awesome!
The service was just excellent, the food was outstanding, and the ship itself was georgeous!
Actually, I just can't come up with any complaints =)
Even though it's "only" Radiance class, it was always something to do.
Never been on the Brilliance, so I can't compare.
I guess I'm recommanding the youngest one!
Don't think you will be disappointed =)

I've been on both and I'm partial to the Jewel. However, that's my opinion based on my personal preference. If the price was less on either; that's the one I would book.

Thanks for your feedback. Jewel it is!!! My family and I are going with a large group of friends on this one. Some have not cruised before so I'm hoping to have them become cruise-oholics like us. Unfortunately my pocketbook cannot keep up with my cravings so I can only do one a year and we just came back from a Freedom cruise. We having been dying to do the Panama one but my kidís school schedules are difficult to balance with this trip's timing. We wonít be going until March of 2009. Aaaagggghh the torture! Thanks again for your help.

Just one more thing...if I'm booking with a large group, where would be the best place to get a discount? Travel agent? RCCL vacation specialist? Does anyone know? Thanks again.

I'm glad you choosed Jewel!
I just know that RCCL has good special consultants doing reservations for groups only.
But I don't know what will give you the best deals or discounts.
It won't hurt to ask RCCL directly by phone =)

Thanks JuniorCruiser! I'll certainly give them a call and our local travel agent just to compare.
