If anyone has any questions, I would be glad to try to help out since so many of mine were answered on these boards - want to return the favor. Just got back from the 4 nighter with teenage son.

Our stateroom (interior) and all other areas were in really good shape and attractive. Breakfasts and lunches better than dinners though. Cocoa Cay was awesome - which they would stay until sunset though. Nassau for us was fun - did two hour private tour of island in air conditioned van for just $20pp. Went to look around Atlantis grounds after 6:00 for no charge. What few 'issues' we had were no chairs on sea day - had to sunbathe on the ground. Some funky dumpster smells around beverage station and occasional sulfur/sewer smells on our deck probably due to some cabins having plumbing issues. It was great otherwise.

My husband and I will be taking the 4 night cruise to the Bahamas in May. We're first time cruisers...getting away for some together time without or two small children. Any advice for this cruise? Thanks!

Be prepared to get hooked on cruising!

You'll feel like a kid in a candy store, with so many choices and options about where to go, what to do, where and what to eat, and how many times a day you want to eat. Just enjoy every minute. And don't take as many clothes as you think you'll need. People tend to over-pack for cruises and it's not necessary.

Welcome home SheilaJean, sounds like you enjoyed your cruise overall. Get busy booking the next one, it helps ease the pain of debarkation. Best wishes and can't wait to see which cruise you pick next!

Fitmom:

My very first cruise was on the Sovereign. Back in 2004. That just before they spent more than a few million dollars renovating her. I had a great time. Now that the ship is renovated, it will be even better.

CocoCay was a nice little private island of Royal Caribbean. They had a amazing beach on the island. In the middle of the island was a large pinic area, and just like onboard all the food was complementary(OOps!); I should say "include with the cruise fare".

I have been to Nassau twice on two different cruises (once on the Sovereign and once on the Carnival Glory). My favorite thing to do there was to go to the Atlantis Casino and Resort, which is across the channel on Paradise Island (visible from the cruise ship docked at Prince George's Wharf). The underwater aquarium at Atlantis was amazing!

I hope this was some help. Have a nice time on your cruise

All I can say is have fun! This sounds like it's the same itinerary I was on for my cruise (Majesty of the Seas), and when you're in Nassau, definitely try to go over and see Atlantis. It's not a very expensive cab ride over there from the dock.

Other than that, it really depends on what you want to do. If you enjoy snorkeling I would recommend trying in in CocoCay or key west, as well as parasailing if you like that.

Most importantly, as I stated earlier, HAVE FUN!
