So glad to find this board! We leave 4/16/07 from Miami for a 4 night cruise on the Majesty of the Sea for our 10th Wedding Anniversary! First off, do we need a passport?

Congratulations on your tenth anniversary--what a wonderful way to spend it.
No, you don't need a passport, but it is strongly recommended that you have one; it is the best possible identification.

Thanks for your reply, that is what I thought but just wanted confirmation from an experienced cruiser. I also thought I read somewhere that I may need need a copy of our marriage license, is this true? Any tips/suggestions on how to make the most of the trip? Many thanks, again.

We went on the exact cruise for our honeymoon 6 years ago, I took a certified copy of my marrage lisence with me cause , I was still using my maiden name, however you should be ok , plus I thought you need a paasport to go to mexico now, I think the it just started it January 2007, you should look into it
Have a great time, and enjoy each other

You'll have a blast on all RCCL & Carnival cruise ships. Just stay away from norwegian, nothing but a bad time - IN MY OPINION.

Thanks everyone for all the info and well wishes! I suppose my DH & I will weigh our options (either save some $$$ for excursions and "pass" on the passport or bite the bullet and apply for one). Hmm??? I'd love to hear everyone's opinion!

We just had a big discussion on passports.. you should be able to fidn it easily enough.. I think it was in the general cruise chat section. I think the summary was that if you have time to get your passport you should get it. You do not have time seeing as they say 6 weeks to process... and your cruise leaves in 6 weeks.. that's too close for my liking. Save the money this time. But if yu had the time I would say it is worth having.
