We did a bridge tour on Splendour of the Seas. It was awsome with the 25 foot swells & the hurricaine force winds (not kidding). I'm not sure how they choose who goes & who doesn't. We were just told to be in a certain place at a certain time.
The reason I get bridge tours is because it's a perk for being a diamond plus member of the Crown and Anchor Society. I've been on bridge tours with some people that were invited by the Captain, and were not diamond plus members. Below is a picture I took on the Liberty last October.
Sonny we are Diamond members now but at the time we were not. We did have dinner with the Captain on that cruise so that's possibly why we were chosen. We have a little further to go for D+ but we ARE working on it. Do you get a bridge tour every time you cruise or just random?
Hi, you did get invited to a bridge tour because you were at the Captain's table. I know of others that had the same treat. Yes, I get a bridge tour on every cruise of 4 or more days. Sometimes they let me take a few guests along on the tour, depending on how many diamond plus or other invitations are given. The bridges all look alike to me. If I ever get a chance to sail with any Cruise-Chat members, I'll try to arrange a bridge tour with my wife and I.
I wish I could say yes, but unless you get a special invitation, you won't get on the bridge. Since 911 they have stopped giving the bridge tours unless you're invited by the Captain. It won't hurt to ask someone when you're on the ship, but don't be disappointed if you're denied.
Usually, an officer or the Hotel Director will recommend someone. I don't really think there's any rhyme or reason. I've been invited about 6 times and have no clue why. We just got an invitation delivered to our stateroom. I do know it was after we were diamond members.
My wife is sitting next to the Captain on his right. The man in the front of the picture is the Hotel Director. This was taken on the Adventure of the seas.
