Time getting on ship?

Wondering about what time they start letting passengers on board the ships? Arriving in Miami at 10:30 a.m. and leaving from Port Ft. Lauderdale.

By the time you get to Ft. Lauderdale and check in for your cruise, you can probably board the ship right away, or very soon thereafter, unless they're running late in preparing the ship for the new cruisers.

Generally boarding begins around 11 pm. Sometimes sooner. Once we got into the building at 10 but the passengers were not off the ship yet. So we waited for quite sometime inside.

You can get onboard about 11.30am but you are not allowed to go to your cabin. The hallways are blocked (on our last cruise until 1 pm) but thats okay.
We had a nice lunch in the Windjammer and explored the ship.

Wondering... do you have a carry on bag with you with some "clothes for a warmer climate to change into", or not???

Deane, assume that your luggage will not arrive at your cabin for several hours after you board. You need to keep some things with you in your carry-on bag, such as your cruise documents and passport, any medications you may need in the first few hours, sunglasses, and yes, a change of clothing if you're coming from a cold climate. Sometimes the luggage arrives quickly, but sometimes, it doesn't!
