No Cruise Documents

Has anyone ever cruised without the official RCCL documentation and more inportantly I believe, luggage tags.

We set sail 1 week from now and our documents seem to be missing somewhere between the tour operator and the travel agent. I am told they will provide us with e documents and we can just tape a note on the bags instead of the luggage tags identifying ship and cabin. This makes me very nervous.

The e-documents is pretty standard now. They email them to you (or to your TA and you pick them up from them) The luggage tags are slowly going away also. They give you a tag in the email that you print out and us as a luggage tag. But they are pretty flimsy and must people say they rip off the bag easily. To help, go buy some clear packing tape and tape the paper tags to the bags (or loop the tape around a handle and sandwich the tag in between the tape halves like they do for luggage tags at the airport)

Did you fill out your info on the RCCL website? If you fill that information out before hand and have the e-documents you are set. In fact you have the same level od documents that 80% of the other passengers have.

Don't worry about it too much.

Hi we are in the same position, going on Legend of the Seas on 2 March. We have been told that worst case scenario is we will have etickets for the flight and RCI will provide luggage labels at the airport. We have completed online check in so at least RCI have all of our details. However, Royal Caribbean are issuing us with duplicate tickets and getting them sent by courier so we should have them before then end of the week.

Did you check in on-line? All you really need is the Set Sail Pass which you print out at home. The porters at the pier can give you luggage tags.

I think Neil has shown up for cruises with nothing but his passport and a booking number, and everything was handled with no big issues.

Everything is E document now. If you did everything on line and printed the Set sail Pass then your all set. If you need luggage tags ask a porter at the pier. At the counter they will take ask to see your passport and credit card and your on your way.

We've taken many cruises at the last minute (1 or 2 days before the ship set sail) and all I did was register on-line...never a problem...and you can make your own tags for a backup if they don't hand them out at the ship...just need to have your ship and cabin number on them.....Not to worry:-)...
