Don't worry yourself over the little details or you won't be able to enjoy the anticipation of your first cruise! You have definitely come to the right place for advice!
The most important thing I can suggest is that you bring a printout of your embarkation form. This was actually advice I got from an RCCL Cust. svce. rep. He said, "Sometimes 'things happen' to computer records and the last thing you want is a problem with getting on the ship."
You are only going for 4 nights. I believe that means one formal night and two casual nights. Pack a nice dress and a pair of neutral slacks or skirts and two nice tops. Done.
Pack some comfortable shorts and shirts for during the day. Don't forget to pack a light sweater because sometimes the ocean breeze can be a bit cool for some people.
Pack some Bonine just in case. I just feel better knowing that it's in my case even though I don't use it.
Sunscreen and extra sunscreen. We also found that walkie-talkies were nice because occasionally my husband and I like do do things separately (that happens after many years ). I also pack a few bottles of water to bring with me.
Don't sweat the small stuff. Pack clothing and necessities and I know you will have a good time!

You will have the time of your life! Don't worry about your formal clothes. Even on the week long cruises with two formal nights, I just bring some dressy black slacks and several nice tunics and blouses. I take one pair of dressy heels. There will be ladies dressed like it's prom night, but there will be plenty of others dressed like me.

Patti,
Keep them coming - we all learn from those who ask.

Ok..you guys asked for it..lol

We haven't booked our curise yet,but i'm already in the planning stages. I rather be prepared when we do finally make our reservations than have to sit at a travel specialist desk and have to make decisions that are not the right ones.

We are planning to depart from Miami for our cruise. Does anyone know of a relatively cheap hotel that is close to the ship and where it will leave from? I know there are lots of hotels in Miami.

We are all "newbies" at one time or another. I am leaving next weekend for the three night on Majesty, but have been on the 4 nighter (Key West inclusion). It was fantastic. Things have changed since I took that first cruise (7/99), but the best critic is yourself. Go and have a wonderful time. One thing I will do differently this time....on debarkation day, I will NOT leave the sight of my luggage as it was lost by the time I got to the airport. I will take it with me instead as I travel light. Half the clothing you take you will not wear. As for formal night, anything you feel comfortable in will do. This is NOT the prom!
