Disembark time on the last day

How long can you hang out on the ship before they kick you off? Our flight doesn't leave until late afternoon and I'd like to avoid sitting at the airport.

Waiting at the airport is better than the ship. On disembark day the ship is turning over everything for the next voyage, Many places are off limit and there are no ammenities (food, bev etc). In Puerto Rico they had last day excursions that kills time before you are needed to be at the airport, I do not know about other ports. I once had to wait in Ft Lauderdale for 6 hours, we asked airport staff what we should do. They recommended getting on the local bus and we went to a mall just north of Miami. We walked around, ate and killed time. Much better than the airport.

We have found that the cruise lines are great for welcoming you aboard - but when "it's over it's over" and they want you off the ship.

One thing you can try is a stand by flight. When checking in at the airport (they can help)check the box for stand by flights.

We did this in Miami in May. We were scheduled for a 7 o'clock flight. We went stand by (knowing if there were no stand by we could still fly out a 7 p.m.) There were schedule flights that day for 11 a.m. 1 p.m. and 3p.m. We were able to go stand by on the 11 a.m. flight.

The airlines will put you on a stand by flight at know extra cost.

We had a 5:00 pm flight out of Ft. Lauderdale. We booked an Everglades excursion through the ship. Very enjoyable.
