Counselors do not expect a tip,(not they wouldn't accept it if offered), but the best way to reward them for a job well done, is to make sure you have given them praise and special mention on your cruise comments card at the end of cruise. Then Write them a nice thank you letter letting them know you have acknowledged their performance on your comment card. It also helps to write a letter directly to the cruise line upon returning home. Make sure to mention their names, ship and sailing date. They will thank you when bonus and commendation time comes around. Also, many cruise ships now have a reward system built into the cruise - You will have an opportunity to complete these "Star Performance" nominations during the week and those crew/staff who recieve the most "stars" are recognized at the final entertainment venue.
