Their cruise policy states that no infants under 6 months old are allowed to cruise to Alaska. Has anyone ever been able to get an exception to this policy?

Hi Nickol and welcome to Cruise Chat.

I'm not aware that Royal Caribbean has any age limitation on any of its sailings. The children's program allows babies and their parent(s) starting at 6 months old, but I think infants of any age can sail with their parents to any destination.

Be aware that people of every age, including infants not taking up beds, are still going to have to pay port taxes.

trvlpro, I believe, posted some info about this telling people that there is a rule about infant
What I recall infants have to have at least 6 months for cruisng with their parents I will check if I can find the post I will give you the link

The latest Royal Caribbean Travel Agent manual I have is 2008/2009. It says there is no minimum age limit for infants sailing with their parents. A phone call to RCI also confirmed this.

Just got off the NCL Pearl and a couple had an infant on board...They were not having a good time....I don't know if it was the motion of the ship, the crowd, lack of sleep or what, but the little one did nothing by cry...and mom looked all bent out of shape.....Have Grandma take care of the little one and go have some fun...

Happy Sailing,

ok
I found the link but It was on the Carnival Cruise line forum I believe RCCL have a similar policy:

http://cruise-chat.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/452603081/m/7...031061453#7031061453

At it said on the post:

"Effective January 1, 2008 for new bookings only.

Infants must be at least six (6) months of age at the beginning of the cruise.

For Transatlantic, Hawaii and South America cruises only, infants must be at least twelve (12) months of age at the beginning of the cruise."

As nickol also states on the post RCCL policy is:

"Their cruise policy states that no infants under 6 months old are allowed to cruise to Alaska."

That was why I assume that the limit for traveling with kids was 6 months or older

Sorry my mistake

Either way
Nickol I recomend you check this post I don't think is a good idea to cruise with an infant and on the link you can find out why.

NCL will let you cruise with an infant and you don't pay as much as the other lines make yo pay. Not like anoter mouth to feed or bed to make. You didn't ask about other options so I won't suggest leaving the chiled with someone.

Cas, That was my post regarding Carnival's Policy update. It does not apply to RCI to my knowledge. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif
