If we buy liquor at the on board duty free , can we take it back to our room to drink or do we have to wait until we get off the ship?
Sorry : this is going to be our first cruise and there are a lot of questions

prairygirl,
Two years ago, I was able to do so after paying a $10.00 corking fee. The rules have change since. Now, any liquor you buy has to wait until the last night of your cruise which they bring to your cabin. Needless to say, I was very dissappointed when I found out about the change .

Drinks aren't really any more than going out to a nice restaurant in a major city.

We were on Voyager in December 2006 and the drink prices didn't seem bad. In fact they were cheaper than our cruise on Carnival in February 2005

I mean it can get pricey depending on amount consumed and multiplied that times 2 cruisers for a total of 7 days. It can add up quick. I agree the prices are not anymore than a restaurant and God bless a baseball game. I just paid $7.00 a beer (16oz) during opening day at the Braves' game.

So while in Cabo we can't buy some of Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Tequila and bring it back on the ship???

If you're in your last port, within a day or two of disembarking, they may allow it to go directly to your cabin. (Emphasis on the word "MAY").

GC,
Don't tease me like that. I'll let you know how it works because I am going to try it. I see this saving as a transferring of funds to other areas, maybe the casino.
