No passport needed ???

Me and my family all have our passports but my 12 year old son. We sent it in months ago. Trying to get thru by phone or e mail is impossible. Thier web site and phone message said that it's not nec for caribbean travel.
should I be worried!!!

Okay, first of all do you have another certified copy of his birth certificate? I imagine you sent off his original with the passport application.

If you don't have another copy of the bc, then get one and don't delay. As long as your son has the bc (an official copy, not a notarized one) he will be allowed to board. The passport rule for Caribbean cruises will not be in effect when you cruise.

currently (June 23rd, 2007) if flying from US to Canada do you need a passport? Is a passport and entry requirement by air for US?

I called the Canadian Embassy in Washington this morning and their recorded information states that you do not need a passport traveling from US. They said you need proof of citizenship and photo ID. They said to check the requirements of the airline carrier. My guess is that the above documents plus the proof of a passport application is what is needed.

Did you check with the US government whether you can re-enter the USA with no passport via air??
