The Sovereign went through a major renovation last year, and is supposed to be in great shape. I haven't seen her since the renovation. As long as you have reasonable expectations, namely that she won't look like one of the ships built in the last few years, you should be fine. I'm escorting a group on the Sovereign at the end of June, and will have more information when I get back.

Went on the Sovereign last September. The ship was very nice. They added the Boleros lounge, Ben & Jerry's, Johnny Rockets, and the Lattetudes. I had sailed on the ship in June 2003, and the renovations made a big difference.

Hi,
I was on the sovereign in November 2005.
It was my first cruise also. I took my
daughter, her firend and my best friend.
It was absolutely wonderful. We had great
weather, Cocoa Cay was great. I have been trying to get them to book another cruise
for January 2007. You will have a good time.

RCCL's drink package price depends on the length of the cruise. Here is a link to the RCCL website which answers all questions about the drink packages.

Thanks, Dave. Have you been on the sovereign? If so, how was it?

I've not been on the Sovereign. I was on sister ship Majesty Of The Seas many years ago. I liked the layout of the ship. Sovereign was heavily refurbished recently which added some new public areas and spiffed up the existing ones. Balconies were added to the Bridge Deck cabins too. I think you will enjoy it!

One thing to note is that the Sovereign was built when RCCL felt cabins should be tiny. If you have a standard cabin the size will not overwhelm you. They are around 120 square feet including the bathroom. But they are efficiently designed.
