I loved the Solarium section on Voyager. I'm sure I will like it even more on the Freedom next year. Maybe after that I wlil try a Radiance class

I'm sure nobody will remember this one, the Sun Viking. It was my first Royal Caribbean ship, so it is still my favorite.

My answer is it is never the SHIP...it is the cruise. The Song of America back in 1994 was a cruise, I'll never forget, and I made some friends, now going on 15 years. The Legend Mediterranean Cruise was the best, because I saw places on that cruise, I had dreamed of all my life. I have cruised the Vision class ships 5 times, and have planned another 2. They are enough ship for me, and after sailing the Voyager class, I found that ship overwhelming.

We have been on all the RCI type ships (14 cruises with RCI) except the Legend. Our favorite was the Sun Princess (nice and small) but she is long gone. As to the current ships, we love the "Radiance" Class vessels. When it comes to the Freedom and Voyager Class my wife calls them all the "Blight of the Seas." If you do not like ships and want to be on a resort than the Voyager and Freedom class are the best. If you want to feel like you are on a real ship (this means being able to see the Sea from most of the ship) than Radiance Class are the best. The only other comparable ships we have cruised are the HA Noordam and its 3 sister ships (Vista Class).

I have been on Sovereign, Splendour, and Explorer. These are the only 3 cruises I have been on and they have all been excellent. I have had no real complaints with RCI. They have treated us well on all 3.

The Explorer has been my favorite ship. The variety of activities was incredible and as there were 2 full sea days we had a great deal of time to explore and utilize the amenities. The in line skating track was really cool. The itinerary (5 day Bermuda) was excellent and leaving Port Liberty was incredible with the Statue of Liberty in the background and the send of from FDNY boat in with all lines open.

There were no problems with either of the other ships and we had a great time on all 3. Cruising is my favorite vacation and with the exception of trying NCLA next year strictly for the Hawaiian intinerary I plan on sticking with Royal Carribean.

I love the radiance class so far. We are booked on the Mariner next year hoping that it is just as nice.

We have been on the Radiance, Sovereign, and Grandeur (twice). We loved them all!
